Now for the first time in over two weeks I had a break in my walking with poles. Not because I felt for that. I had to go for regenerate my Thai visa.
It is not altogether a bad thing to leave out a training session.
It’s also a necessity.
The body needs a pause to recharge ones batteries.
The muscles need rest for a recovery. It’s easy to exaggerate with things you have newly started. The result will be an opposite then what you like to have. When you receive an injury and must make an undesired brake. Can make you to put away your poles and then forget everything. Better have a settling-in period and later increase the training sessions.
But it’s easy to say. Myself I always start with the highest gear. Go straight ahead and hope I will keep up the speed.
Another thing I also do is always have a timekeeping in everything I do. I must know how long it takes from one place to another. Next time I do the same thing I always try to break that time.
People ask me why I must always have an eye on the watch. Why not just walk and enjoy instead of let oneself be hypnotised by how long time it will take. Maybe they are right. But I have always been in that way. Not able to stop even if I sometimes try.
To note down and register everything it’s another oddity I have. How many kilometres, minutes, laps, days or whatever it is. Everything has to be booked in the mind or in a notebook.
I can not say if it’s right or wrong. I think everyone has to do as they feel for. The most important must be that you are active and keep in good health. How you do it its irrelevant.
So pick up your poles and go on Nordic Walking in the way it suitable for you.
